ACT001 - FASB ACCOUNTING UPDATE

This course will introduce participants to the new FASB Codification requirements and a discussion of IFRS. In addition the course will present new FASB statements and significant changes in FASB updates. IFRS standards will be covered in separate classes for IFRS updates.

ACT002 - IFRS/FASB CONVERGENCE

This course will present new IFRS statements and significant changes contained in IFRS updates. The course will discuss the progress of convergence of U.S. Accounting Standards with International Accounting Standards. FASB standards update will be covered in separate classes for FASB updates.

ACT003 - AUDITING & ASSURANCE UPDATE

This course will review new Statements on Auditing Standards, Statements on Standards for Attestation Engagements and Statements on Standards for Accounting and Review Services issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Public Companies Auditing Oversight Board. Participants will be introduced to the International Auditing Standards (individual IAS will be covered in a separate class for each update.)

ACT004 - COSO INTERNAL CONTROL

This course will introduce participants to the COSO Internal Control Framework (SAS 78). After working on a specific application of the COSO framework, participants should be able to apply the internal control framework to other environments, unique to client environments.

ACT005 - DECEPTIVE BEHAVIOR

This course will introduce participants to the world of deceptive behavior. The course will include an introduction into the psychology of deception and then use applications and role playing to help participants actually discover deceptive behavior on the part of the role players.

ACT006 - NEW YORK STATE ETHICS

This course will introduce ethical concepts including the psychology of moral development, judgment and values and the sociology of professions. The course will also include the rules of ethics and expectations for CPAs practicing in the State of New York.
