Q. Where is the Continuing Education Office?
A. The office is in Kiely Hall Room 111. Kiely Hall is the 13 story building facing
Kissena Blvd. The campus is located at the corner of the Long Island Expressway Service
Road (Horace Harding Expressway) and exit 24 of the Long Island Expressway (Kissena Boulevard).

Q. How do I get to the campus?
A. Directions to Queens College Main campus
Directions to the Prince Street: Located at 39-07 Prince Street, Flushing, between Roosevelt and 39 Avenue. Prince Street is one block west of and runs parallel to Main Street.
By Car from East or West, take the Long Island Exp. - Exit 23, Main Street. Travel north on Main St. until 39th Ave. Left turn on 39th Ave. There is Municipal parking on 39th Ave. on the right. Walk to Prince Street. Turn left. The site is in the middle of the block.
From the Whitestone Exp. - Linden Place exit. Travel south on Linden Place until Northern Blvd. Right on Northern Blvd. to Main St. Left on Main st. to 39th Ave. Right on 39th Ave. Follow the directions above.
By public transportation
The LIRR or #7 subway to Main Street, Flushing

Q. Do you offer financial aid?
A. No, there is no financial aid available. There is an
educational loan that you may apply for through TERI (The
Educational Resources Institute). You can contact TERI at 1-800-255-8374 or call (718) 997-5739 or email cep@qc.edu for an application. You
will be asked about your employment history and TERI will do a credit check to determine your eligibility.

Q. How do I register?
A. You can register from this website over a secure server. Each course listing has an enroll on-line button. Once pressed, you will be taken to forms to fill in your personal information and your credit card #. Confirmation is given at the end of the process. Print out your confirmation.You can register for more than one course at a time. (We suggest you do so.) If you don't want to register online, you can print out the Registration form and mail it to Queens College Continuing Education, 65-30 Kissena Blvd., Kiely Hall rm 111, Flushing, NY 11367 with a check, money order or credit card information or fax it with credit card information to (718) 997-5723. You can also register in person at Kiely Hall room 111.

Q. Do you offer college credit for your courses?
A. No, we don't offer college credit. Some of our courses offer Continuing Education credits for
professional education.

Q. May I substitute a course taken at another school for a course in
one of your programs?
A. Yes, with the approval of the educational coordinator of the program you're enrolled in. However
an additional course must be taken as a substitute.

Q. Do you offer discounts?
A. Seniors, age 65 and older, receive a 25% discount on classes.
Proof of age is required. Queens College permanent full-time and part-time faculty and staff who present a validated ID card at registration will be given a 50% discount if seats are available. Staff with temporary validated ID cards will require a letter from their supervisor certifying that they are permanent part-time employees. If seats are available, employees of other Queens College campus-based organizations will also be given a 50% discount when they provide a letter of certification from their supervisor, attesting to their permanent full-time or part-time status. All discounts are on tuition only, and will be subject to special conditions noted with course descriptions. There are no discounts on online certificate courses, trips and
tours, A+ Study System or Speed Reading, Alcoholism Counselor
training, or any class with a fee of $45.00 or
less.

Q. Do you accept veterans benefits or vouchers from social
service agencies (VESID, Workforce New York, etc.) or employers?
A. Most of the certificate programs are approved for veterans benefits. Vouchers from Workforce New York, VESID, New York State Department of Labor among others are accepted. If your employer wishes to pay for your class, bring a letter stating the employer will pay for your class upon receipt of a bill from Queens College Continuing Education. You will not have to pay up front for your classes. The letter must be on company letterhead.

Q. What are the procedures for applying to a certificate
program?
A. Submit a $10.00 non-refundable application fee, payable to Queens
College Continuing Education Program, 65-30 Kissena Blvd.,
Flushing, NY 11367 (Paralegal Studies $25.00 plus a completed
application - Legal Secretary $20.00).

Q. Do I need prior education for the certificate programs?
A. Each program has its own educational requirements. Some have
none. Some require a high school diploma (GED) and Paralegal
Studies requires 60 college credits (see individual programs
requirements for specific details).

Q. Where are your classes held?
A. Continuing Education classes are held in two Flushing locations: the Queens College Campus (QC) and Prince Street
(PS). Look for the location codes after the section number. ie: Section MO21 - QC, means Monday night-location Queens College and Section MO21 - PS, means Monday night-location Prince Street, which is located at 39-07 Prince
Street, between Roosevelt and 39th Ave., Flushing.

Q. What is your refund policy?
A. If you drop a class before the first session is scheduled
to start you are entitled to a full refund of tuition less
the registration fee. If you drop a class after the first
but before the second session, you are entitled to a 75% refund
of tuition less the registration fee. If you drop after the second
class there is no refund. If the school cancels a
class you are entitled to a full refund of tuition and the
registration fee.

Q. What payment methods do you accept?
A. Check, money order, VISA, MasterCard and
Discover. If you pay in person, we accept all the above plus debit cards (NYCE, MAC, HONOR). We can accept cash only when the College Bursar Office is open (usually Monday through Friday, 9:30 am - 4:30 pm, and Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5 - 7 pm when Queens College classes are in session).

Q. What is the policy regarding returned
checks?
A. There is a $20 fee on returned checks.

Q. What fees are required in addition to tuition?
A. All students must pay a $20 registration fee each semester,
regardless of the number of courses taken. Single course
exceptions are noted. Certificate programs require an application
fee of $10 ($20 for Legal Secretary, $25 for Paralegal).

Q. Do you guarantee class sessions?
A. Bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances may cause the
cancellation of a class session. We guarantee the number of
sessions and/or number of hours specified for each course will be
given. Usually a make-up session is added at the end of the
course.
